Welcome to My Home

My name is Adam Keith Bogert. I am 24 years old. I have spent most of my life living in a small New York suburb called Pawling. Now I’m living in Columbus, Ohio.

And frankly, you probably couldn’t care less who I am.

Right?

Right. So let’s move onto the interesting bits, shall we?

Of course, it’s rather presumptuous of me to think there are interesting bits about me; only through years of pandering and flattery (some of which may have been unrecognized snark) have I been convinced that when I write, people are capable of enjoying it. So for years, I’ve persisted. Sadly, my domains have not. I’ve published on a half dozen blogs across multiple platforms. I’ve written articles and reviews and essays in addition to those “blogs,” though admittedly the only truly distinct thing about that categorization is how arbitrary it has become. Everyone has an opinion. The ones on this site are, fittingly, my own.

Much of what you’ll find here will make a lot more sense if you know these things: I am a fervent follower of Christ, I’ve been addicted to video games since I was five, and although my official pursuits have changed radically over the years I’ve always been an English major at heart (only recently do I have a degree to prove it). If at least one of those three things doesn’t factor into a post, I must have been having an off day.

No, really. I’m fairly predictable.

To some extent I should warn you that this site is very much in medias res. As I consolidate my work, or at least the best of it, from across the Internet, you’ll find the post count grows backwards as frequently as it does the reverse. Moreover, as I embark on graduate studies I may discover that all or most of what I’ve done with this place is intolerable and out, out it will all go, to make way for something more becoming of a serious academic.

Ha. I just made myself laugh.

Make no mistake: I take my research seriously. But insomuch as I can, I hope to remain precisely the same as I’ve ever been: open and honest to the point of fault, tenaciously pursuing the Truth, and loathing anything which seems poised to preclude either of those traits.

So again, welcome to my (digital) home. To quote an unpleasant fellow:

Come freely, go safely; and leave something of the happiness you bring.
